Some of the program’s goals for this year include providing children with shoes, clothing, personal hygiene products, textbooks and school supplies; constructing a sports court/play area; and participating in the construction of a secondary school.
There’s also an emergency need for supplies for newborns. According to a press release from the Kusewera program, one in 36 women in Malawi die from pregnancy related complications. The villages are in desperate need of baby formula and funds raised from the Kusewera Empowerment Program will also go toward transporting supplies to Blessings Hospital in Malawi at the end of May.
As Kusewera Spokespersons, Tenley and Kiptyn are working to raise money toward these efforts and you can click on the links below to help one — or both of them — reach their goals.
