Grey's Anatomy

Teenage Boy Saved by Patrick Dempsey Speaks: Patrick “Was There For Me” (VIDEO)

The 17-year-old boy who Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd) saved from a car wreck last week (April 24) has spoken, and he agrees with the rest of the world: PDemps is a hero.

The teen driver of the Mustang car that flipped over onto Patrick’s Malibu lawn, Weston Masset, tells ABC News, “I was scared for my life.” He continued, “I was upside down,” and says he “would have been a lot worse without him.”

When Patrick called Weston’s mom Mary Beth, she says that “He had a certain authority in his voice... I asked if he was a paramedic and he said, ‘No, this is Patrick Dempsey.’ I thought, ‘McDreamy’?” We would have probably passed out either way, whether it was from the stressful news or hearing Derek Shepherd giving us medical news on the phone.

Weston says he will be eternally grateful for Patrick, who “was there for me.” Aww, hopefully the Grey’s writers can figure out a way to turn this happy ending into a Season 9 episode. Hint: Come back for Season 9, Patrick, or they’ll get it all wrong!

Watch Weston’s interview with ABC News below.

Catch a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, May 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
