Real Housewives of New Jersey

Caroline Manzo Opens Up About Daughter Lauren’s Struggle With Her Weight and Why She Was “Worried Sick”

On the April 29 episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, viewers watched as Caroline Manzo took her daughter Lauren to meet with a doctor who put Lauren on a pretty drastic diet, in an effort to shed some pounds.

Since we first met Lauren on RHoNJ several years ago, she has always been open about the battle with her weight, a battle Caroline knows all too well.

In her latest blog for, Caroline writes about Lauren’s weight, and how her struggle has taken a dangerous turn in the past few months.

“Lauren’s struggle with her weight breaks my heart. I try to keep her strong and positive; we’ve had both good days and bad ones,” Caroline writes.

“Lauren made a drastic change over the past year and a half, and Albert and I were worried sick over her. She became depressed, angry, and distant. A shell of the lively, always smiling, huge dimpled Lauren was all we had,” she continues.

Being the fierce mama bear that she is, Caroline knew something had to be done to help her daughter. She writes, “It was at that moment that we took action — it’s been a long, rough road, and we tell her story as the weeks progress. I will say this, Albert and I couldn’t be more proud of her.”

Kudos to Lauren for being so public about her issues with her weight, we’re sure she’s helped many young women with their own struggles and we wish her the best.

Stay strong, Lauren. We’re rooting for you!
