Knowing the Tonys are good friends, it was only fitting that Wetpaint Entertainment ask Tony Vincent about Christina Aguilera’s "one-dimensional" comments toward Tony Lucca.
“We’re all very tied to only a certain number of songs we can perform,” Vincent said in an exclusive interview with Wetpaint Entertainment.
“These songs are assigned to us. We don’t get a great deal of say in the songs. So, if she thinks he’s one-dimensional, go back and look at what’s given behind the scenes and say, ‘Wow, you were only give two song options and neither did you feel comfortable with?’”
Vincent went on to say that he respects Xtina’s right to make her opinions known as well as her critiques.
“I think Christina’s dialogue and her assessment of individuals performances is 99 percent on the money,” Vincent said. “I think that what she said in the exit of Tony Lucca’s performance was much more personal than it was constructive.”
And though he still believes that Christina is “the real deal,” he’s a big supporter of his friend and former Mouseketeer. Vincent believes his former teammate Juliet Simms has what it takes to make it to the finals, but has picked Lucca to win the top prize.
“Of course, I want to remain true to being a supporter of my own team,” Vincent said.
“It’s a pretty hard call because I have such a care about what Tony Lucca does as an artist whereas I haven’t seen Juliet do her own shows. I’m very torn because I believe in my coach. I believe that he has selected a group of individuals that are truly out of the box and unique. However, my weight tends to be thrown behind Tony Lucca.”
