Ashton Kutcher Does Brownface in Racially Offensive Ad Campaign for Popchips (VIDEO)
In a super offensive new advertising campaign for Pop Chips, Ashton Kutcher has created a fake dating site video featuring five eligible bachelors — all played by Ashton.
The video originated on the Pop Chips Facebook app and shows Ashton impersonating a range of “types,” from Raj, a Bollywood producer with a stereotypical accent and attraction to Kim Kardashian, to Darl, who is flamboyant, dresses like Karl Lagerfeld, and has a tiny dog who he feeds Popchips to.
Here's what NYC tech blogger Anil Dash has to say about the ads, “I can’t imagine I have to explain this to anyone in 2012, but if you find yourself putting brown makeup on a white person in 2012 so they can do a bad “funny” accent in order to sell potato chips, you are on the wrong course. Make some different decisions.”
Since Anil made his comments on the adverts, the videos have since gone private on Youtube, but nothing has been pulled from Ashton's Twitter feed, which currently has 10.5 million followers.
