Rachel’s Failed NYADA Audition: Does She Deserve a Second Chance?

After what must have felt like an eternity of sleepless nights and countless hours of preparation, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Rachel (Lea Michele) finally got their chance to audition for NYADA in Season 3, Episode 18: “Choke.”

Kurt’s performance of “Not the Boy Next Door” from The Boy From Oz turned out fantastic, and even scary NYADA judge Whoopi Goldberg — um, we mean Carmen Tibideaux — seemed impressed.

But poor Rachel’s audition didn’t go so well. For as confident as she seemed beforehand, something happened in the middle of that familiar “Don’t Rain on My Parade” performance, and Rachel just choked.

Then, that was it: Audition over. No time to restart. No second chances. Carmen Tibideaux was done listening. Rachel Berry’s one shot at NYADA had come and gone.

But can this really be the end of the story? There has to be another way. After graduation, Kurt and Rachel were supposed to move to New York together, go to NYADA, and be one step closer to the inevitable fame of their rightful Broadway careers.

Do you think this is really the end of Rachel’s NYADA dream, or does she deserve another chance? We know she’s got enough talent to get in. If only Carmen would just listen to her again! What do you think?
