Grey's Anatomy

We Know Who’s “Safe” From Grey’s Anatomy Season 8 Finale Death, So Who’s Still at Risk?

Now that we’ve (basically) recovered from the shocking news this morning (May 2) that several Grey's Anatomy characters are “safe” from the Season 8 Finale death (Season 8, Episode 24, "Flight"), it’s time to take a deep breath and consider the remaining options.

As we reported earlier, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Alex (Justin Chambers), Cristina (Sandra Oh), Bailey (Chanda Wilson), Jackson (Jesse Williams), and Mark (Eric Dane) have been excluded from the unofficial death watch. Show creator Shonda Rhimes has let it slip that the major death at the end of the season will mean the loss of a “beloved” character, and it won’t be some guest star that we barely know.

So who does that leave? Would Shonda really consider ending the beautiful and groundbreaking Calzona relationship with a death? Has Richard (James Pickens Jr.) been concealing an illness we know nothing about? Are April’s (Sarah Drew) recent freak-outs a sign of something more serious than stress?

Tell us who you think will go for good in our poll below.

Catch a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Thursday, May 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
