It’s Havoc and Bright Lights For Alanis Morissette: Singer Set to Release Her First Album in Four Years
Good news, dontchathink?
MTV reports that Alanis Morissette will release her next album, Havoc and Bright Lights, on August 28. It will be her first since 2008’s Flavors of Entanglement, which was inspired by the end of her engagement to Ryan Reynolds (who has gone on to marry — and divorce — Scarlett Johansson and romance Blake Lively). Look for the disc’s first single, “Guardian,” to drop May 15.
Alanis took full advantage of her hiatus from the studio: The singer did a little acting — and started a family! In 2009 she appeared on the fifth season of the Showtime comedy Weeds as Dr. Audra Kitson, an OB/GYN who gets involved with Andy Botwin (Justin Kirk). The following year, on May 22, 2010, she tied the knot with rapper Mario “MC Souleye” Treadway, and the couple welcomed their first child, son Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway, on December 25, 2010.
She’s been a busy lady, but we’re glad she’s coming back! (It’s all we really want.)
