Robert Pattinson’s Next Film Will Be a Thriller… About Saddam Hussein?

The movie The Dictator is out later this month, but Robert Pattinson may soon start filming a movie about the real-life dictator who helped inspire that comedy. The dreamy talented actor is attached to star in a psychological thriller called Mission: Blacklist, based on the true story about the search for Saddam Hussein. R-Patz would play the interrogator who was responsible for his capture. No word on whether this interrogator would also sparkle when exposed to sunlight.

The film is based on a novel called Mission: Blacklist #1 which was co-written by the real-life person whom Rob would be playing and the screenplay is by the writer of Band of Brothers. Now let's get this straight: Robert was already in one movie that takes place on 9/11 (Remember Me), and now he's in a movie about Saddam? This guy sure does like choosing movies about scary political figures. We're thinking it's only a matter of time before he signs up for a movie about Kim Jong-il, right?

The scrumptious actor's year was already shaping up to be bloody awesome, with Breaking Dawn Part 2 closing out the Twilight saga in November, and then his film Cosmopolis likely to be released later this year as well.

We must admit that this new role in Mission: Blacklist sounds perfect for Rob, even if there's no werewolf with amazing abs in this one. We're also thinking that playing a character in the Middle East may mean that Rob will finally do the impossible: He'll no longer be the shade of printer paper.
