Ash says, “[Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine] wanted to break us all out of the good-girl mold.” She continued, “For Selena, Vanessa [Hudgens], and me, our audience is all in their teens or younger, so they're not even going to be able to see this when it comes out — it's not appropriate."
Selena talked about making “a mark” in her career, and showing everyone that she can tackle film roles that don’t conform to her Justin Bieber-dating, squeaky clean Disney image. “I want to be taking myself seriously as an actress, and this was definitely a stretch."
Judging from all the racy photos of Ash and Sel in bikinis, see-through tops, cut-off jean shorts, and smoking (presumably fake) cigarettes, we’re going to predict that fans will be shocked by their favorite good girls going bad. So, job well done?
Spring Breakers is currently slated for a 2013 release date.
