We’d be hard-pressed not to call last night’s season finale “Always” the best episode for Caskett in Castle history. From jaw-dropping “I love yous” to the steamiest first hookup we’ve ever seen (of many to come, we hope), we barely had time to catch our breath!
Did you catch all the Caskett moments last night? Take a gander at some of the best Caskett exchanges from Season 4, Episode 23: "Always" below!
5. Beckett Agrees to a Movie Night
Although this tender moment pales in comparison to the steaminess that happens between them later in the ep, we can’t overlook the fact that Beckett took Castle up on his cute little offer to catch a flick. Aww.
4. Castle and Beckett Hold Hands
After the Castle crew links the murdered Army officer to Captain Monty’s break-in, Beckett can’t help but feel his death is somehow related to her mother’s case. She’s nervous, naturally, and as she and Castle sip coffee in the precinct, he reassures her he’s got her back.
“You’re not alone in this. I’m here,” he says. “I know,” she responds, grabbing his hand. Always, right?
Trying to save her life, Castle up and tells Beckett everything — including that he’s been hiding pertinent info from her all season — and Beckett’s understandably upset. But the monologue he delivers afterward, urging her not to pursue the case anymore? We’re just gonna go ahead and call it the most romantic monologue of. all. time.
“Every morning I bring you a cup of coffee, just so I can see a smile on your face. Because I think you are the most remarkable, maddening, challenging, frustrating, person I've ever met. And I love you Kate, and if that means anything to you, if you care about me at all, just don't do this,” he tells her.
Um, can you say swoon?
Unfortunately, despite the cute crime writer’s plea, Beckett continues to work on her mother’s case. Naturally. Nobody really thought a little “I love you” would break Beckett, did they? Oh, they did? That’s cute.
1. The Makeout Sesh
Let’s set the scene: After her life flashes before her eyes while gripping onto the side of a building (‘cause that’s normal), Beckett shows up at Castle’s door all hot, wet, and bothered, and it’s like she can barely contain herself. OK, they can barely contain themselves.
Castle’s angry for a hot second (literally, one second) and asks Beckett what she wants. But after she all erotically whispers “you,” it’s all over. She grabs his face and Caskett shares their first real, passionate kiss — OK, kisses. You know, the ones we’ve anxiously, painstakingly waited four freakin’ seasons for.
Forget “Always,” we think “Finally” is more like it!
