Was Christina Aguilera Too Harsh on Tony Lucca on The Voice Finale Performance Show?

On tonight's live finale performance show of The Voice Season 2, Team Adam finalist Tony Lucca sang a rock version of Jay-Z’s “99 Problems.”

The song’s chorus goes, “I’ve got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one,” though Tony never sang the word “bitch.”

After his performance, Christina Aguilera — who has had a very public feud with the contestant and former Mouseketeer — complimented Tony’s vocals, but criticized his song choice.

“The lyrical connotation was a little derogatory toward women,” Christina said.

Tony’s coach, Adam Levine, said that the “bitch” the song mentions meant “life” not a “woman” in Tony’s case, since he is a husband and father.

Adam tried to play it off by exposing his “Team Xtina” T-shirt, but Christina continued the criticisms even into her own contestant’s performance.

After Chris Mann sang her song “The Voice Within,” she said, “This is a real man who respects women.”

After all Christina’s said about Tony, we’re kind of hoping he was directing that song toward her, but what do you think? Vote below!
