3 Reasons Why Jermaine Paul Won The Voice

Blake Shelton started The Voice Season 2 supremely confident he'd coach the winner. And he was right. One of his team members remained consistently popular, delivering stand-out performances each week.

Former backup singer Jermaine Paul proved he deserved to be on this show and here’s why we think he deserved to be crowned The Voice:

1. He Has a Powerhouse Sound

Why did they stick this man in the back all these years? The former backup singer has some powerful pipes that need to be center stage. Not only can he kill it on songs like “Livin’ On a Prayer,” but he has the impressive vocal control that allows him to do “Against All Odds,” too.

2. He Has Killer Stage Presence

It seems this man is a born performer. He doesn’t need a light board or a smoke machine to put on a great show. We enjoy watching his every move — and it’s not just because he looks good in a leather jacket.

3. He Has Celebrity Support

Being a backup singer for Alicia Keys certainly has its perks. The R&B singer has come out in support of Jermaine. His mentor Kelly Clarkson even wanted him to sing with her (hands off Duets, he’s ours!).
