Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Brooks Ayers Moved to the OC for Real Housewives Girlfriend Vicki Gunvalson

Fresh on the heels of that oh-so-awkward meet and greet with Briana and Ryan on Real Housewives of Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson’s beau Brooks Ayers is doling out the details on their relationship. In a livestream interview with Spreecast on May 8, Brooks spilled that he and Vicki met in May 2007 at a conference in Atlanta. “Most people think I came here to find her. I can say she came to the south to find me,” he joked.

The Mississippi native, who works in healthcare venture capital (whatever that means), did meet Gunvalson while she was still totally tied to former hubby Donn. Brooks insists their relationship began as fellow professionals, though — at least to begin with.

He explained: “Our friendship grew over time, kept in contact, etcetera. Then she was working through her issues in her prior relationship with Donn . . . You know, you obviously lean on the people that you’re closest to, so we had the opportunity to get to know each other a little better, and one thing led to another and here we are.”

The “here” he’s referring to, of course, is Orange County, California, where he now resides. Brooks owns up to relocating to the west coast just to be with his new lady. “Vicki and I started dating in December 2010, and after six months of dating, we decided to take it to the next level. In order for that to happen I needed to be located closer to her.”

Though he’s digging the weather in Cali, Brooks says he brought a little slice of down-home with him and is converting Vicki into a southern sports enthusiast. “Vicki’s becoming a college football fan, so we made the effort last year we went to a football game together in Memphis,” Brooks said. “She also wears her Mississippi State t-shirt when the Bulldogs are playing. You know, she’s lightening up and getting a little more balance in her life.”
