Apparently, Cher missed that most important of Twitter lessons: The Tweet is mightier than the sword.
It seems that the famously outspoken diva shared some rather harsh feelings about Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney over Twitter earlier today, and then quickly retracted them. E! Online reports Cher as tweeting, "If ROMNEY gets elected I don't know if I can breathe same air as Him & his Right Wing Racist Homophobic Women Hating Tea Bagger Masters"
Woah. Unsurprisingly, the tweet ushered in a wave of responses, including some staunchly negative ones. Cher couldn't help but fire back at one, saying, "Nice Mouth ! U learn that at Church, Gun Show, or how to press your Klan costume Klass?" Bravo! Can't you just hear that being hollered in Cher's famously husky baritone?
Some Cher fans came to her side, and others (naturally) inquired as to why she was taking part in such a pointless (and public) debate. Seems she ended up learning some sort of lesson, as she tweeted this afternoon: "Sorry I Let The Dogs Out, But I Should Have Remembered 1must watch what They Say These Days!"
In any case, it seems that Cher is definitely "Strong Enough" to handle a little political banter...
