DWTS’ Maks Explains His Bad Boy Behavior During Week 8 Rehearsals: “Nobody Is Perfect”

Maksim Chmerkovskiy may have lost his cool a little bit during rehearsals for the Dancing With the Stars Season 14, Week 8: Results show, but he still isn’t finished apologizing for his behavior.

While practicing their Samba Trio with brother Val Chmerkovskiy and partner Melissa Gilbert, Maks had most of his frustration bleeped out in the rehearsal package ABC aired. First, Maks took the opportunity to apologize to Melissa with tears in his eyes immediately after their first dance. And later, he explained to E! that he also gave Melissa a “private apology.”

Referring to the producers’ decision to use somewhat negative clips for his pre-dance package, Maks said, "Look, it is what it is. It's the good with the bad. Nobody is perfect. You put two people together 24 hours a day for the past 15 weeks, you're bound to see things you don't want to. We've got each others back and I just try to give herself to fight with.” He continued, “Regardless of the scores, regardless of the comments, we're going to give our fans something they can point their fingers at and say 'That's why I voted for them.' And that puts a lot of pressure on us."

All we know is that Maks can do all the apologizing he wants. As long as we still get to see some of that Chmerkovskiy fire during rehearsals, they can bleep the entire thing. We’ll still have the visual, ahem, package.

Watch the next new episode of DWTS tonight, May 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
