The Voice Finalists Chris Mann and Tony Lucca Discuss the Impact of Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine’s Feud

The fight between Voice coaches Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine has gotten pretty heated these past few weeks.

Though much of Christina's criticism was aimed at Team Adam’s Tony Lucca, he wasn’t the only one who suffered as a result of her comments.

Last night, Christina’s contestant Chris Mann and Tony Lucca took the fourth and third places, respectively. When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the artists after the show, they both commented on the effect of the feud.

“You know, I’m not gonna be naive and think that it didn’t [affect my votes],” Tony said. “I think that maybe the takeaway here is that America is not interested in that brand of drama. But as well, I think that’s not to diminish Jermaine being extremely deserving. He’s as real deal as they come.”

“I think I was almost more excited that he won than myself,” Chris admitted. He also acknowledged that that show’s drama probably impacted his results.

“Probably, but I don’t care,” he said. “I never want to talk about that again for the rest of my life. That stupid-ass feud is over. Honestly, the one super awesome guy with no drama won, and I think that says a lot about the way we should behave.”

Both Tony and Chris are happy to put the fight behind them and focus on the future of their music careers.

“I’m really looking forward to taking this moment and this new creative charge to release on my career and getting back in the studio and making a record and getting back on the road and reacquainting myself with my fans and saying hello to the new fans,” Tony said. “It’s gonna be really great.”

Chris is also working on a new album and just released a new single called “Roads." But the bright lights of Broadway may also be calling his name soon.

“It would be cool to do something new, but any of those sort of classic ones like Les Miserables would be fun,” Chris said. “Throw anything my way. I love New York. I miss New York. Harry Connick Jr. is my sort of career idol — stage, music, TV, film.”

We’d love to see Chris on the big stage and hear what Tony comes up with. Regardless of their spots in the Final 4, we think both contestants have something to be proud of and will go far in their respective genres.
