Connie Britton Done with American Horror Story, Has New Musical Drama ‘Nashville’
Connie Britton's spooky stint on American Horror Story may be done, but she'll be back (and singing!) this fall. ABC has just picked up a new musical drama called Nashville, which Britton will be helming as Rayna James. Rayna is married, has two kids, and a quickly wilting country music career that she desperately needs to attend to.
Joining her from AHS is Eric Close, who you might remember from some of the show's vivid flashback scenes. Close played Jessica Lange's cheating husband (who came to an ugly end), and will play Britton's husband in Nashville. (Guess he's got the husband part down pat!)
Another familiar face will be making a comeback to the small screen in the new ABC show: Heroes alum Hayden Panettiere! Panettiere will co-star as rising teen country star Juliette Barnes, who is touring with Rayna.
We're not sure if American needs another musical drama, but after Britton's amazing turns in Friday Night Lights (Best. Mom. Ever.) and American Horror Story, so we're really excited to see how she does in this new show.
