The Voice Mentor Miranda Lambert Covers Self Magazine’s June 2012 Issue

It’s been a big year for country singer Miranda Lambert.

This Monday, May 14, she celebrated her one-year wedding anniversary with The Voice judge Blake Shelton. Last month, she was named one of People Magazine’s most beautiful women in the world, and she recently won female vocalist of the year at the ACM awards.

Now, Miranda is on the cover of Self Magazine talking about her lack of body issues and Mr. Blake Shelton.

“Really skinny actresses make me hungry,” Miranda said. “I see them and think, 'Honey, you need to eat!' I’m lucky I don’t have to live like that. I feel my best when I’m a toned, not flabby, size 8. Women come up to me and say, ‘You’re beautiful and confident,’ and that makes me feel I can be, too.”

When Miranda asked Blake about her weight fluctuations, he was smart enough to answer appropriately.

“I asked Blake, ‘Dude, why didn’t you tell me I got fat?’” she said. “He said, ‘That would go over like a lead balloon. It’s not my job to tell you you’re fat. It’s my job to tell you’re beautiful.’”

Miranda’s favorite part of her body?

“I don’t mind having a big butt,” she said. “I actually like that about myself.”

And though she’s taken some steps to eat healthier, Miranda’s made her trainer accept the fact that for Miranda, rum is one of the main food groups.

“I drink Bacardi,” Miranda admits. “My trainer, Bill, approves. I mean, he’d rather me not drink, but that’s not an option.”

We’re sure Blake wouldn’t have it any other way!
