Police Give New Info About Terminator 3 Star Nick Stahl, Who Is Still Missing
Sadly, another former child star is making headlines for the wrong reasons. Actor Nick Stahl, who played John Connor in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, was reported missing, and his whereabouts are still unknown. Police say they are currently "tracking down a few leads," and that Nick was indeed dealing with "personal issues."
Police working on the case are frustrated because Nick's family wants to keep things "very low-key, and that affects our ability to successfully solve these cases," according to Detective Carmine Sasso.
Nick was reported missing on Monday, May 14, by his wife, Roseann. He was last seen in L.A.'s sketchy Skid Row district on May 9. In February, his wife filed court papers to receive full custody of their two-year-old daughter, Marlo, due to concern about Nick's drug use. Detective Sasso says it is likely that drugs are involved in Nick's disappearance.
Nick burst into the film world at age 14 in a starring role opposite Mel Gibson in 1994's The Man Without a Face. (Come to think of it, Mel knows a thing or two about controversy himself.) Nick went on to substantial roles in 2001's Oscar-nominated In the Bedroom and the 2004 box-office smash Sin City. He starred in HBO's short-lived series Carnivale from 2003-2005.
In an odd coincidence, Edward Furlong — the actor who originated the role of John Connor in the Terminator series — has himself had a long history of drug abuse and has been arrested several times. Perhaps the role is cursed? (Let's hope not, for the sake of Christian Bale, who played John Connor in the fourth film in the series in 2009.)
