Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg Weds Priscilla Chan — and Her Dress Cost How Much?
Meet Priscilla Chan, the First Lady of Facebook!
Priscilla and Facebook founder/bazillionaire Mark Zuckerberg wed on Saturday, May 19, in the backyard of their Palo Alto home. Life & Style reports that most guests thought they were attending Priscilla’s med school graduation party and were secretly shuttled in from a nearby Four Seasons. So sneaky!
Though exquisite, this was no lavish, Kardashian-style spectacle. A source tells the mag, "Nothing about [the wedding] was extravagant except that Billy Joe [Armstrong] from Green Day performed." Even Priscilla’s ruby wedding ring was designed by Mark himself!
The bride wore an understated, fitted Claire Pettibone dress that came in at just $4,700 — shockingly inexpensive given the couple’s massive wealth. "She went into a bridal salon in San Francisco and used a fake name to purchase the gown," an insider tells Life & Style. Claire even tweeted, “WOW! This is my gown...I had no idea!!!"
But not everyone was kept in the dark. According to Life & Style, Priscilla alerted her bridesmaids the night before, giving them all their outfits — described by a source as “gorgeous dresses and Louboutin and YSL shoes.” The source adds, "They were all different, and they looked amazing. Priscilla is really stylish and styled each girl with something that was for their style and shape."
According to David Kirkpatrick‘s book The Facebook Effect, Mark and Priscilla met when they were at Harvard while waiting in line for the bathroom at a party. The wedding came exactly one day after Mark announced Facebook’s first day of trading on the Nasdaq. The two plan to go on a much-deserved honeymoon later this summer.
