Jesse Williams on the “Depressing” Grey’s Anatomy Season 8 Departures

As Grey's Anatomy fans, we were devastated by Lexie's (Chyler Leigh) death in the Season 8 finale (Season 8, Episode 24, "Flight") and, to a lesser extent, by Teddy's (Kim Raver) departure as well — though at least she's alive and well in the Grey's world somewhere. But at least we aren't losing well-liked coworkers as well as beloved characters.

Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery) recently spoke to Us Weekly about how the finale felt to him, as a Grey's insider, calling the experience "kind of depressing."

"I was sad to lose those guys," Jesse admitted when asked about saying goodbye to Chyler and Kim. "We love them to death, they're really, really beautiful people and it was difficult."

Of course, it doesn't help that he's still unsure of his own future on the show, since when the season ends, "everybody is supposedly leaving."

Somehow, we're confident that Shonda won't just ditch Jesse and his sexiness for no reason. We need all the eye-candy we can get to ease the pain of returning to Grey's without Lexie.

Miss Grey’s? Us too. Luckily the show will return to Thursdays at 9 p.m. with all-new episodes in the fall on ABC.
