Wetpaint Entertainment had a chance to chat with Sammi before she went back to the house to start filming, and she opened up about her hopes for the new season, how she thinks pregnantSnooki will fit in, and what we can expect from her tumultuous relationship with Ronnie.
Wetpaint Entertainment: So, Jersey Shore Season 6 is starting to film soon. Sammi Giancola: Yeah, I'm really excited about that.
A lot of the cast seems to be settling down. Snooki is pregnant, Mike is sober, and most of the cast isn't single any more. Do you think the house will have a different vibe this season? I definitely think the house is going to be different because Nicole is pregnant. I don't know how that's going to be. She's definitely not going to be partying but she'll still be a part of the family and we're still going to have fun. I'm actually kind of excited because this will be the first Jersey Shore baby in the house. I'm really excited to go through her pregnancy with her.
Do you think there will be less partying in general this season? I think what's really cool is we are in Seaside and we are back in Jersey. The rest of the house — we're still going to have fun, we're still going to party, we're still going to be ourselves and have a good time. We're still at the Jersey Shore. I think it will be different with the pregnancy, but we're still be ourselves.
Snooki is pregnant and engaged. Who do you think will be the next cast member to go down that route and start settling down? I have no idea! I have no idea who it would be.
Does seeing her go through that make you want to settle down soon? No. I definitely don't want to have any kids any time soon. But you never know what the future will hold. For now I'm just focusing me, myself, that's pretty much it.
You and Ron are back together. How's that going? Good. It's going really, really good. I'm really happy and things are going really good right now.
What inspired you to get back together? I really don't know. You know how we are. Every day is something new. But we have a really good connection. That keeps us friends, and keeps us always getting back together.
You guys had a tumultuous relationship for so long, but last season you seemed a lot calmer and happier together. What changed? I think that we both matured. We were able to have other relationships in the house, so it wasn't just all about our relationship. We actually had fun with each other and other people in the house for the first time, ever. I think that's probably why. As well, there were other people in the house who also had relationships, so I think the pressure was taken off our relationship and put more on other people's.
Do you think you will keep up the more relaxed relationship in Season 6? With me and Ron every day is something new. We fight, we make up. I think that we're just going to be ourselves and just do what we always do. Other people in that house have relationships now too, so I don't know what's going to happen.
Could see yourself marrying Ron? Yeah. I mean, you never know what could happen. Maybe one day, you never know.
You and Deena seem to be very good friends in the house. Have you been seeing her during the off season? Yeah. I hang out with Deena all the time. And we're really close even when we don't hang out.
This is going to be your sixth season in three years. Are you getting tired of filming? No! I actually miss it. Usually by now we will have started filming. It's been a little bit of a break in between the last season and this upcoming one. So I'm actually excited. I miss it. It's been a part of our lives for a little bit now, the last couple of years, I actually enjoy filming.
Are there any changes you'd like to see to the show's format if there are more seasons after this one? I don't know. Right now I like it as it is. There's so much going on with the whole pregnancy, a whole bunch of stuff. I kind of like it how it is. We're back in Jersey, our home town. I like it better going there again, because I'm more comfortable.
Last season, everyone seemed to be at odds with Mike. Do you think that will change this year, especially now that he's made big changes in his own life? I think he's been through a lot, but we're a family. Mike is like a brother at the end of the day, and we'll help with anything he goes through. I think it will be cool. Him and Nicole won't be drinking as much. It's just going to be a different light on the whole situation. I think he might be different in a more positive way.
