Glee Season 3 Finale: Who Broke Up? Who Stayed Together?

Talk about an emotional rollercoaster! We were warned that some couples might be breaking up on tonight’s Glee, and that others were in store for some huge cliffhangers. But now that the Season 3 finale, Episode 22: "Goodbye" is over — which of our favorite couples are still left standing?

Finn and Rachel: BROKEN UP

In one of the most emotional and unexpected twists of the Season 3 finale, Finn(Cory Monteith) decided it would be in the best interest of both he and Rachel (Lea Michele) if the two of them broke up.

Finn drove Rachel to the station, sent her on the next train out for NYC, and started packing his bags to head off to Georgia and go join the army. Yes, it appears Finn and Rachel really are over for now. That’s not to say they can’t get back together eventually, later down the road. But for now, Finchel is over.

Kurt and Blaine: TOGETHER

Luckily, no Klaine breakup here. Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Blaine (Darren Criss) were still very much a couple at the end of the finale, having decided to try a long distance relationship even before news of Kurt’s ultimate rejection from NYADA arrived.

However, don’t automatically assume that Kurt will be hanging around Lima by his boyfriend’s side come Glee Season 4 next fall. From what Chris Colfer’s been saying, it appears that Kurt may very well still be headed for New York City in the fall, anyway — NYADA or not!

Brittany and Santana: TOGETHER

We think so, at least. Brittana’s ending seemed a bit more unclear. Brittany (Heather Morris) isn’t graduating, so she’ll be sticking around Lima another year. News of this was almost enough to make Santana (Naya Rivera) leave all her plans for college behind, and stay by her girlfriend’s side in Ohio.

However, by the end of the episode, Santana appeared to have made the decision to head off to New York City and pursue her career out there. After all, if Kurt and Blaine can make the long distance thing work, who’s to say that Brit and Santana can’t do the same.

Mike and Tina: TOGETHER

Again, we’re not certain about this one. With Mike (Harry Shum Jr.) headed off to Chicago on a dance scholarship to the Joffrey Ballet School, he and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) may be breaking up eventually. But with nothing addressed in the Glee finale, we’re assuming Tike will put forth their best effort to make the long distance thing work. A couple this solid? We can’t imagine they’ll be breaking up any time soon.

Will and Emma: TOGETHER

Will (Matthew Morrison) and Emma (Jayma Mays) were such a small part of the finale, it’s hard to tell exactly what’s going on. However, based on spoilers from Glee creator Ryan Murphy, it appears that Will and Emma might not be getting married after all! Of course, this new bit of info won’t guarantee that Will and Emma will be broken up next season, but it isn’t the most promising of news.

Which Glee couple are you rooting for to make it? We’re you ultimately happy with the way things worked out in the finale — or are you about to throw something up against the wall in rage? Head to the comments and let us know!
