Ashley Benson Reveals Hanna’s Mom’s New Love Life in Pretty Little Liars Season 3

Why do the Little Liars get to have all the fun? We love the four main girls on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars but we also love their sometimes shady, sometimes supportive parents. Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to Ashley Benson (Hanna) about what we can expect from the PLL ‘rents in Season 3 (airing June 5) and what Mama Marin (Laura Leighton) will be up to.

Don’t forget to check out part one of our interview with Ashley where she talks about why Hanna is secretly visiting Mona in the insane asylum and part two where she discusses Lucas and Haleb.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Is Hanna’s mom going to keep more secrets or settle down?
Ashley Benson: I hope she settles down, it’s too much for me to keep to myself! Her storyline is going to get pretty interesting as well. Her love life is going to become a really fun thing to play off of. But yeah, she always has secrets. I don’t know if she’ll have any huge ones to make Hanna have a heart attack if it gets out, but I think Season 3, Hanna and her mom are going to be more open with each other. This all happened, Mona’s now locked up, there is too much out there for the girls they kind of have to share everything now

How is it now that parents are playing pivotal roles, how does it affect relationships?
It’s great! This season is more about relationships with the parents, not just with us but with other guys. It’s just a fun way to have that mother-daughter fun scenes. It’s a lot of my mom going on dates, setting up online dating, just trying out all these other things to try and find her a nice guy, we’ll see if it happens. Anything to keep her away from Detective Wilden. I love working with Laura [Leighton] it’s really fun having her on set all the time.

Check back later for more from our interview with Ashley, including what it was like working with James Franco on Spring Breakers!

Catch an all-new Pretty Little Liars when Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
