Good News, Tributes: The Hunger Games DVD Contains Hours of Unseen Footage!

Doesn’t it feel like forever ago when you were eagerly waiting in line at the movie theater to catch a showing of The Hunger Games?

Well, for those of you that just can’t stop obsessing over Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and the gang, we’re happy to tell you that The Hunger Games is scheduled for a DVD release on August 18, and the DVD is just loaded with behind-the-scenes extras.

The two-disc set, which will be available for pre-order on May 25, comes complete with more than three hours of unreleased material, including extensive interviews with the cast and crew and an eight-part documentary that explores the creation of the film.

The film — which has already grossed nearly $400 million in the U.S. alone — is bound to be a hit when it is released on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download at 12:01 a.m. on August 18. At the very least, it will tide us over until the November 2013 release of Catching Fire!
