Vicki Gunvalson Says Everyone Made Her Feel Like a “Fool” in Costa Rica on Real Housewives of Orange County
Are there psychoactive cane toads in Costa Rica? Not that we’re concerned about Vicki Gunvalson licking hallucinogenic amphibians or anything, but she certainly was acting strange in Real Housewives of Orange County Season 7, Episode 16. Between playing “The Picnic Game,” singing “Ring Around the Rosie,” and claiming to have once dated someone named Bob Tomato, she was displaying some very un-Vicki-like behavior.
In her newBravo blog, Vicki insists she was just blowing off some steam. “To say this year was the toughest year of my life, is an understatement,” she writes. Still reeling from daughter Briana’s elopement, Vicki says she was trying to keep it together: “One thing I felt was going to happen was either I was going to burst out laughing or turn into a blubbering idiot. Either way I knew it was going to be a tough trip for me.”
Despite all the awkwardness at home — and the tension between her friends — Vicki was trying desperately to make the trip light-hearted, but her plan backfired. “The girls couldn't stand that I was having fun, because, as I said in the episode, I think they were used to me being "Debbie Downer" and they didn't know what to do when I was acting silly and happy,” Vicki explains, though she adds that even she isn’t sure if she was just “faking” it for the trip. “[E]ither way, I wish they just encouraged me instead of making me feel like a fool.”
Vicki didn’t quite apologize for her role in the “intervention” with Alexis Bellino, but she did acknowledge, “It was brutal not only watching it, but also being there and really not doing anything to help her out.”
Oy vey. The ladies will probably all need a few days to recover from this vacation…
