Will Season 2 of the Glee Project Have Multiple Winners, Too?

The goal of Oxygen’s reality show, The Glee Project, is to discover a fresh face to add to the cast of Glee. The thing is, when creator Ryan Murphy and Co. came to the end of The Glee Project’s inaugural season of last year, they didn’t just pick one winner — they ended up choosing four of them!

Okay, maybe it ended up more like two winners and two runners-up. Damian McGinty (Rory) and Samuel Larsen (Joe) were crowned the official winners, while Lindsay Pearce (Harmony) and Alex Newell (Wade) got a 2-episode only consolation prize.

The fact of the matter remains, though, that came Glee away from Season 1 with four new characters instead of the originally-advertised one. Now that The Glee Project is back for Season 2 on June 5, it seems like a fair question: Will the show continue with their multiple-winner approach this year, as well?

Creator Ryan Murphy has spoken, and his answer is: Don’t bet on it!

Speaking to this year’s final 14 contenders during the Season 2 premiere, Ryan says, “I think it’s going to be harder than last year, because I fell in love with so many of the kids that I chose two. But this year is going to be much, much, much, much harder because we’re only choosing one person.”

Hear that, guys? Only one winner this year.

Though based on Ryan’s wording, we’re not yet willing to rule out the possibility of TGP2 crowning another runner-up or two. Because, technically, there would still only be one winner.

How many contenders do you think will walk away this year with a spot on the show?
