2012 Critics Choice Awards Full Nominations List: Community Leads, Glee and American Idol Snubbed

The Critics Choice TV Awards, instituted last year, are already proving to be a balm for fans of amazing cult hits usually underloved by more mainstream awards shows.

The nominations for the second annual Critics Choice Awards came out today, and we were thrilled to see NBC's quirky Community leading the pack with six nominations, including Best Comedy, Best Actor in a Comedy Series, and two nominations apiece in Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series. Our other favorite NBC comedy, Parks and Recreation, snagged five nominations, and we were also overjoyed to see ABC's underappreciated Happy Endings get some attention.

The nominees in the drama categories look a lot more like the Emmys and Golden Globes, with well-deserved love going to Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Homeland. We were also excited to see John Noble, who won last year, get another nod for his role as Walter Bishop on Fringe.

Perhaps most interesting is the shows that didn't get any nominations. For example, Glee was completely snubbed, as were the NBC comedies you normally see represented at awards, The Office and 30 Rock. Dancing With the Stars was shut out of the Best Reality Series - Competition category (though Tom Bergeron did earn a nod), and, most notably, American Idol, which took home the Best Reality Series - Competition prize last year, is nowhere to be seen.

Read the full nominations list, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
