Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Go Head-to-Head at Tonight’s CMT Awards

While being country music’s power couple has its benefits, it can also present a tricky situation when it comes to awards season.

Tonight at the 2012 CMT Awards, country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are both up for the show’s top award — Video of the Year. Miranda was nominated for her hit single “Over You” and Blake for his classic “God Gave Me You,” which Season 2 winner Jermaine Paul performed in The Voice finale.

The couple is nominated in multiple categories for tonight’s awards show, but both are coming in with multiple awards already under their belt buckles.

Blake and Miranda won Male and Female Vocalist of the Year at this year’s ACM Awards, and both have produced numerous No. 1 singles in 2012.

Also up for the CMT Video of the Year Award is Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars for their song “Safe & Sound,” which was featured in the blockbuster hit The Hunger Games, and Lady Antebellum for “We Owned the Night.”

Who do you think will win Video of the Year? Are you Team Miranda or Team Blake? Comment below!

Tune in to the 2012 CMT Awards tonight (June 6) at 8 p.m. ET.
