Lindsay Lohan Will Rock 66 Liz Taylor Looks in Her New Film!
Talk about commitment. Aside from a noted look that Lindsay Lohan rocked right out of yesterday, the over-hyped and sometimes underrated actress will be pulling out all the stops for Liz & Dick, creating 66 separate looks in the 80-minute Lifetime movie (that's more than one look every two minutes, for those interested in the math).
The actress is also getting very into Elizabeth Taylor's famous hair, makeup and jewelry stylings, even dying her hair a raven brunette and bringing her own makeup on to set. Linds and her team of stylists have their work cut out for them, since the movie will be covering more than 20 years of Liz's life, focusing mainly on her marriage(s—there were two) to Richard Burton. Out of the many fab Liz looks, expect all the trademarks: impossibly long lashes and blood-red lips from the classic days of the 50s, her 60s Cleopatra-inspired cat eyes and nude lip look, and much more. As for the bling, producers for the TV movie replicated some of Liz's most famous baubles, including the 33-carat Krupp diamond (Liz Taylor was like the original Jennifer Lopez in the large rock department).
So far, Lilo is eliciting strong approval as Liz Taylor from everyone involved in the production; Liz & Dickcostume designer Salvador Pérez gushed to People that “there was an audible gasp” when she first walked onto set in character. “You’d swear it was Elizabeth.” Makeup artist Eryn Krueger Mekash agrees: "She looks so much like her. There was a moment when she saw her picture on the monitor and said ‘I’m her.’ It was thrilling.”
This might seem like no big deal (like 'sure, of course folks on the production would approve'), but remember that Lilo's potential for a bad reputation has even affected her peers on previous jobs, like when she recently guested on Glee (not to mention back in the day, when everyone on the set of Georgia Rule—including Jane Fonda—thought she was bad news).
It's probably too soon to be completely sure, but we bet all the naysayers who thought Lilo couldn't pull this off are beginning to doubt themselves. Here's hoping Lindsay reclaims some of her acting chops as the inimitable Elizabeth Taylor!
