The Glee Project 2: Which Contender is Your Favorite So Far?
Now that you’ve officially seen the first episode ofThe Glee Project Season 2, we’re curious to know: Who’s your favorite contestant so far?
Sure, it will still take a bit of time to really get to know each ofthis season’s top 14 — waitno, 13— but you’ve no doubt already formed a pretty strong first impression about who your early favorites might be. Now it’s time to sound off and let us know what you think.
Much like Season 1 Glee Project winnerSamuel Larsen (Joe), 24-year-oldAbraham has a unique look and an edgy rock vibe that makes him stand out among all the other contestants. We love his colorful hairstyle, and his skills as a performer-to-watch were certainly showcased in the “Here I Go” music video. We’d say Abraham is one of the early ones to watch!
As her powerful backstory can attest,Ali’s had to overcome plenty of challenges in her life — yet she still managed to spend almost every moment of the premiere with a big smile on her face. With her cheerful attitude and friendly personality, Ali seems to be quite well-liked in the cast. But it’s her strong singing background and obvious theatre training that really make us think she’s going places in this competition.
Maybe it wasn’t as obvious to the judges this week, but we still got plenty of chances to see whyAylin has been labeled the “flirt” amongst this season’s cast. We love her spunk, but the fact that she landed in the bottom three this week probably isn’t the best way to start off the competition. Luckily, the judges did seem pretty impressed with Aylin’s powerful alto during her last chance performance. We’d say she certainly still has a chance in this competition.
Aylin thinks he’s the most attractive guy in the whole cast, and we’re sure there are plenty of ladies out there who would agree. The chiseled Florida boy recently made the move out to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career, and we’d say a spot on Glee might just be in the works. A number of jocks graduated from the glee club this season, so the introduction of a new singer/sports star sounds like a definite possibility.
After earning his BFA degree in acting,Charlie made the move to NYC to try his luck on Broadway. But would a TV role on Glee actually be a better fit? We still can’t get over how similar he looks toFinn (Cory Monteith). Hey,Puck’s (Mark Salling) getting a little brother next season. Maybe Finn’s dad had another son we didn’t know about? Hey, if it lands an energetic cutie like Charlie on the show, we’re all for it.
Guest mentorLea Michele (Rachel) made no secret of how beautiful she thinksDani is, and the talented Florida gal already has quite a fan following on YouTube and fromher reality TV past, as well. She’s got a unique look and personality that Glee just hasn’t seen before, and we think she makes a great addition to the show!
Already one of the frontrunners of the competition, Cape Cod native Lily Mae earned some covet praise from Lea Michele about the strength and power of her voice. However, reality TV shows like The Glee Project seem to thrive off labeling someone as “the villain,” and based on how things played out during the premiere, it appears that Lily just may be this season’s villain. Whether or not that’s how her personality will actually turn out still seems up in the air. But one thing’s for sure: She’s certainly going to be interesting to watch!
He may have been blind since childhood, butMario still manages to be able todance, act, and even play of musical instrumentslike piano, drums and guitar just like anyone else. Now this is a guy with talent! Plus, the D.C. native has got a sassy and fun personality that has already made for plenty of fun moments on the show. We see him sticking around for quite a while?
Are we the only ones who think that Michael sort of looks like Taylor Lautner from Twilight? At 19, he’s the youngest contender on The Glee Project this season, but that might actually be a good thing, considering how Glee seems to want to cast actors who will be able to stick around a couple of years. (Just look at Season 1 winnerDamian McGinty [Rory], who was only just 18 when he first appeared on the reality show.)
The raven-haired beauty didn’t get a whole lot of screentime this episode, but we’re already taken by her unique, soulful voice and her humble and sweet personality. Hopefully, we’ll get the chance to see more of her soon!
Bubbly and energeticShanna is already taking the competition by storm: impressing Lea Michele right off the bat, and knocking it out of the park during vocal recording with Nikki Anders. With her friendly personality and sweet Southern charm, Shanna is no doubt already a blast to watch on this show. If she keeps winning homework assignments and killing it in her music video performances, we’d say this gal has a definite chance of winning the whole thing!
No doubt Tyler has a powerful story. With his journey as a transgender man beginning less than a year ago, the 22-year-old Florida native would certainly be storytelling gold on Glee. Yet, with his voice is still in flux from the hormone shots, and his dancing skills seemingly not meeting choreographer Zach Woodlee’s expectations, does Tyler have a shot at making it all the way to the end? We hope so. But for now, it appears we’re just going to have to wait and see.
Taryn’s got a unique voice unlike anything we’ve heard on Glee before, and a fun sense of style that we can’t wait to see more of. If anything, the challenge of her new surroundings — the Detroit native had never been on a plane before flying to LA for callbacks — might be Taryn’s biggest hindrance. If she can pull off the confidence needed to shine on this show, we see no reason why she couldn’t make it far!
You’ve met the final 13, now it’s time to cast your vote. Which of this season’s remaining contenders is your favorite so far?
