Blake Shelton Loves The Voice, But Hates New Back-to-Back Seasons
Though the loveable (and at times crass) Blake Shelton may seem like a laid-back guy, even this country crooner can get overwhelmed at times — and rightfully so.
He’s been touring, attending award shows, and working on his next studio album, in addition to his Christmas album, since The Voiceended a month ago.
So his catchphrase at this weekend’s CMA Fest? “Something’s gotta give.”
Could that “something” be his judging spot on The Voice?
“So far I’m doing the back-to-back season,” Blake said at the CMA Fest backstage press conference on Friday night.
“I’ve been very vocal with the network and Mark Burnett’s production company. It’s like ‘Man, this sucks, because the reason that you want the four of us is because we’re viable artists right now, current. And we can’t do both, if we do back-to-back seasons.”
Blake assured fans that he’ll back back for the fall season, and said that our four favorite judges will be filming in just a few weeks.
“I look forward to that,” Blake admitted. “I love it, and I can’t imagine not being a part of The Voice, ever. I’d love to do it from now on. But it just needs to work in a way that I can still come out here and see these people that are here tonight.”
We’re sure that time apart from wife, Miranda Lambert, hasn’t been easy either. Miranda recently said that in the couple’s first year of marriage, they’ve probably spent four months together.
We hope Blake and NBC are able to work out something soon because we’d definitely miss that goofball on Monday and Tuesday nights!
