The Bachelor

Ali Fedotowsky on Roberto Martinez: “I Hope He Finds Happiness” – Exclusive

Ali Fedotowsky knows how to do summer right. Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with The Bachelorette alum at the kick-off event for Sauza Tequila’s “Make It With a Fireman” Regional Rescue tour earlier this afternoon, where she toasted some of New York City’s bravest (and sexiest) firefighters with margaritas at Lucy’s Mexican Cantina.

After posing for photos, Ali took the time to chat with us about her exciting new career as a television personality for LXTV’s 1st look. Of course, we also had to ask about recent reports that her former fiancé, Roberto Martinez, may be the next Bachelor. Gracious as ever, Ali gave us her thoughts…

Wetpaint Entertainment: Cheers! So you’re a margarita fan?
Ali: Yes! I’m a huge tequila person. And I really do love Sauza tequila. Margaritas are perfect for summer because they’re sour, but they’re also refreshing. I mean, margaritas and Mexican food for happy hour? You really can’t go wrong.

You check out a lot of restaurants and hotspots for your new gig as host of 1st Look. Is the job a good fit?
I love it. My favorite thing about it is that I really don’t feel like I’m “hosting,” I feel like I’m doing. I make a good TV personality because I’ll do anything, I’m totally myself and I don’t feel weird with a camera on me.

I think the reason LXTV is such a great fit is that I’m doing what I enjoy. I love going to restaurants and trying new things. I’ll talk to other patrons, I’ll talk to the chef. That’s just who I am and it’s something I’d be doing anyway. I can’t even tell you how much I love this job.

And it keeps you traveling quite a bit?
Right. I actually live in LA, but I just got to New York and I’m here for 9 days. Then I’m off to Chicago for 9 days, then back LA for a few days, then on to San Francisco. The show definitely keeps me on the road.

Are you dating?
I’m single right now. I’ve actually been single this entire time, despite what you may have heard! I’ve been on one or two semi-dates…I’m not even sure you would call them actual dates. But I’m ready. I’m ready.

We have to ask, what do you think of the reports that Roberto may be the next Bachelor?
I just hope he’s happy. I hope he finds happiness.
