Is The Bachelorette’s Ryan Bowers a Jerk — or Just Misunderstood?
Ryan Bowers raised a few eyebrows in The Bachelorette Season 8, Episode 3, when he made his statement about Emily Maynard gaining weight. But maybe he was just misunderstood. Kacie Boguskie, fan favorite from The Bachelor Season 16, said Ryan was just joking and we should all lighten up.
On Episode 4, Emily herself told Ryan, "Some of the things that come out of your mouth I'm like 'Where in the world did that come from?'" She didn’t like his comment about not lovin’ on her if she got heavy. He said he's been being flirtatious. "You've been to the gym. I like your butt as it's been in the gym,” he said. "God designed you to be a beautiful woman, so be a beautiful woman. You know what I mean?" Was he just trying to be cute and joking around? Yeah, he’s a confident guy — is that a good thing or is he overconfident-to-the-point of arrogant?
Later that same night, Ryan turned the tables on Emily and basically grilled her, trying to see if she’s a good fit for him, since he believes he’s a great catch. He also said something about going home and talking about being the next Bachelor. Is that so awful? All of the guys in the house probably talk about being The Bachelor since it’s likely that one of them will be the next rose-giver. That’s the usual pattern. And when Ryan talked about The Bachelor to the cameras, he was probably asked about it by someone behind the scenes.
Arie Luyendyk, Jr., already a favorite with Emily and a lot of viewers, does not seem to like Ryan. “I don't even know how to describe how much bullsh-t is behind that guy,” Arie said.
Do you agree or do you think Ryan is just getting a harsh edit?
