Charlie Sheen Finally Admits to Not Winning, Blames Antics on “Psychotic Break”
Remember last spring when Charlie Sheen was “winning”? He boasted about drinking tiger blood and hanging with his goddesses... and got fired from mega-hit Two and a Half Men, thus losing his guaranteed $2M per episode? Those were crazy times — and now Charlie’s going on the record with Playboy saying that he was “in the middle of a psychotic break.”
In the candid, lucid interview Charlie talks about the frenzy surrounding his spectacular public free fall, confessing, “I don’t think it was the show in particular. It was the buildup of all the time I’ve been in the business, the divorces and everything. I started to unravel.” He acknowledges the irony in his “winning” catchphrase, admitting, “I was in total denial.”
Some of the wreckage that Charlie has left behind is the relationship with his former Two and a Half Men co-star Jon Cryer, whom Charlie accused of being a “traitor” and a “troll” during the height of his meltdown last year. Charlie explains, “[Jon] just got caught in the crossfire. He’s a beautiful man and a f***ing fabulous dude and I miss him. I need to repair that relationship, and I will.”
Charlie’s reckoning comes just one week before the premiere of his new FX sitcom Anger Management,in which he plays a guy named Charlie struggling with the destruction his short temper causes in his life. In an added art-imitating-life twist to the show, his ex-wife Denise Richards plays his love interest. We’re not sure if Charlie’s actually winning yet, but it looks like he’s at least trying.
