Fan Launches Twitter Campaign to Bring Jill Zarin Back to RHONY – Will It Work?

Maybe the Jill Zarin Bravo Boycott could actually happen? After posting a blog on her personal website hinting to fans that they should “pull off a DALLAS move” if they are bored with The Real Housewives of New York Season 5’s new cast, at least one Jill Zarin fan has started the ball rolling on getting the outspoken Housewife back on TV.

An unknown fan on Twitter started a new @BringBackJillZ Twitter handle, and states that fans who want the Grand Madam of Zarin Fabrics back should “follow me and lets tell Bravo what we want.” As of Wednesday, June 20, the Twitter handle has already amassed 11 followers, including Jill’s dog, Ginger.

The Twitter handle’s tweets are mostly made up of negative comments about the new season and the new cast members, and tweets to Bravo letting them know that they want Jill back. “I watched 15m [of RHONY] last night. Ick boring, fake and awful!” read one tweet. Another tweet mocked new Housewife Heather Thomson for her use of the word “Holler.”

Jill has been showing some love to her loyal fan, retweeting @BringBackJillZ and saying “sweet,” when they pointed out that RHONY ratings are dropping. Jill has also been vocal about supporting her other fans who have been writing to her and telling her that they miss her on the show.

So, could this outcry of support for bringing Jill back actually influence Bravo? The network has never brought back any old Housewives that have been fired or left their show, although Real Housewives of Orange County’s Jeana has dropped in and out of the show for dramatic guest appearances over the past couple of seasons. (Jeana also had a strong link to the current cast members, so her drama fitted in seamlessly with the other women.) But hey, just because it has never happened before that doesn’t mean it could happen in the future.

The Real Housewives of New York airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
