Now, John Saady (who owns Karma and Bamboo Bar, the location of the incident) tells E! that he has watched the bar’s video footage from that night, and it confirms that Ronnie was not the instigator.
"There were several individuals lobbing ice at the cast, and my staff asked them to leave," John says. "One of [these people] went over and pushed one of the cast members from Pauly D's show, who shoved him back. You see Ronnie in the video holding everyone back, pushing everyone away, and it's clear. Then one of the individuals punched Ronnie in the face."
Ronnie is due in court on July 3, based on a criminal complaint filed by one of the patrons, Justin Viterito. The complaint alleges that Ronnie was the one who initiated the physical fight, shoving Justin and his friend. But Bamboo’s owner claims that the video footage proves otherwise.
John says that yes, Ronnie did throw a punch in retaliation, but “it’s clear it was self-defense.” He says, "Ronnie hit the same guy who hit him … That's the only guy Ronnie had an interaction with."
Justin’s lawyer told Wetpaint Entertainment that he wanted to wait until he had seen the bar’s footage before filing a complaint. So we have to wonder if he was looking at the same footage as Bamboo’s owner, or if has other evidence against Ronnie that’s strong enough to warrant a complaint.
Either way, Ronnie won’t be having the best 4th of July weekend. Hang in there, Ron Ron!
