Kelly Bensimon Says Her Feud With Bethenny Frankel on RHONY Wasn’t “Real”

Former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel is currently enjoying the success of her new talk show, Bethenny, which she sometimes uses to address her former Housewives lifestyle.

On a recent episode, Bethenny said that she wishes former castmates (and frenemies) Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon “all the best,” despite them feuding during the filming of their show. Well, Kelly has a small issue with Bethenny’s message because, according to her, the feuds between the ladies weren’t “real.”

“I think it’s really, really nice to acknowledge that to her new fan base, and I appreciate it for whatever it is,” Kelly told “It’s very sweet of her. But at the same time, I find it very concerning, because it’s a show for entertainment so for people to make a big deal out of an altercation for television, in all honesty, it’s incredibly concerning for me….that people actually think that something for television is real. That’s been my biggest thing.”

So, wait, is Kelly saying that her fights with Bethenny weren’t real? Or were they just not that big of a deal? We might have to add the title of Most Amazing Actress of Our Time to Bethenny’s already impressive resume, because we had no idea she could fake the kind uneasiness she had around Kelly “I’m up here, you’re down here” Bensimon.

Then again, “real” is one of Kelly’s favorite words. She often uses it to just mean something that she finds authentic or of any real value. She would often slam Alex McCord during Season 4 of RHONY for not being “real,” when what she really meant was that Alex was acting overdramatic or silly.

Whatever the case, Kelly doesn’t want to be remembered for her crazy antics on the show. “I wish people would stop making it something it wasn’t,” Kelly said. “I always wish her well. It was a job to me.”

Noted. We will try to get the images of Jelly Beans Kelly out our head! Let’s start fresh!

The Real Housewives of New York airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
