Grey's Anatomy

Sandra Oh Dishes on Her Highest (and Lowest) Moments From Season 8

In spite of the huge emotional toll that was the Grey's Anatomy season finale dealt our hearts, Dr. Yang (Sandra Oh) had some of the most intense moments this season, spread out over a very slow, 24-episode burn.

Between her abortion, separation, her husband's infidelity, boards, and realizing her twisted sister Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) was officially choosing her hubs over her best friend, Cristina went through the ringer, and losing two cast members wasn't any easier on Sandra Oh.

"We've been down for almost a week now, and I'm just extremely depressed and recuperating, but it's not just the physical recuperation," Sandra told The Hollywood Reporter of her summer hiatus. "This has happened to me before with certain projects that I have left that I feel really low, and I know we're coming back, but certain things and dynamics will have shifted, and there's a lot of that makes me very sad."

Of course, the dynamic change to which Sandra refers is our saying goodbye to Lexie (Chyler Leigh), whom Shonda killed off and thusly ripped our hearts out, and Teddy (Kim Raver) who quit Seattle Grace. (And don't we wish we knew how to quit you, Grey's? No. We don't.)

But, the season wasn't totally filled with low moments for Sandra. Besides getting to throw a bowl of Grape Nuts at Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) 10 times during their apartment argument shoot, what elicited a giggle out of the normally stone-faced actress?

"Justin Chambers (Alex Karev) is pretty funny and always makes us laugh during scenes in April's (Sarah Drew) office," she dished. "And Cristina's stuff with William Daniels when he's her proctor, I thought that was hilarious. I just thought how amazing is this if we're talking about medical shows past and present. I'd be so willing to do that in 25 years, to come on as a doctor to some other kid in a medical show."

Uhh, we totally respect William and his two-time Emmy award-winning role on St. Elsewhere, but we're not gonna lie: us Generation Y-ers only could only squeal "Whoa, Mr. Feeny!" at the TV during his cameo.

But, sure, it would be cool to see Sandra Oh on Grey's Anatomy 25 years from now, when it's STILL ON THE AIR.
