The Voice’s Cee Lo Green Under Scrutiny By Animal Rights Groups For Pet Cockatoo

Last week, the eccentric Voice judge Cee Lo Green announced that he would be introducing a new pet in Season 3.

Lady Bird, a pink Moluccan cockatoo, is to be the new sidekick for the Lady Killer, replacing Purrfect the Cat. According to TMZ, animal rights groups have a big problem with this new addition to The Voice family.

Apparently, Moluccan cockatoos are endangered, and according to Born Free activist Monica Engrebretson, “Many Moluccan cockatoos develop self-destructive behavior including feather plucking and self mutilation not known to occur in the wild.”

Monica claims to be a big Cee Lo fan, but encouraged the singer to have a more appropriate pet on the show.

So far, Cee Lo has not commented on the matter, but we know one feisty feline who would be willing to regain her rightful spot on Papa Cee Lo’s lap!
