DWTS Pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy: I’m Ready to Be a Dad, Just Have to Find Right Setup (and Wife!)

Maksim Chmerkovskiy wants to be daddy — and not just to Sir Sleep.

The Dancing With the Stars pro told OK! Magazine. “I would love to be a dad. For the longest time, I’ve wanted kids, but you have to have the right setup, right? I mean, my mom says always ‘to have a kid is the easiest part — it’s everything afterwards that you have to deal with.’ I’m ready — I just want to make sure that everything is set up the right way, and my child is going to be born into an environment that is going to be amazing.”

Maks seems to be dating fellow DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd and it's possible she's The One for him, but it's possible he's still searching for his future wife and mom to his kids.

Maks said he's looking for someone who shares his "old, traditional set of morals" and beliefs.

"I look for someone whose upbringing was somewhat similar to mine because they can understand me – love for the family, and everything else," Maks continued to OK!. "You see someone’s relationship with their parents, and you realize what that person’s going to be like as a parent. I look for that, I look for someone who’s fun, who wants to work, who has goals and who’s going towards the goals but is not all about career -- someone who wants to work a little harder on being able to be a career person and a family person. It’s a very hard job, but you can definitely do it. The problem is nowadays people choose not to — they choose between the two, and go ‘oh, it’s too difficult, so why don’t I just do my career thing? We’ll worry about the family thing later.’ To each his own — I’m fine with that — but it’s not someone I’m going to be with.”
