Real Housewives Lawsuit: Tamra Barney Sued, Says She Was Duped by a Phony Ghostwriter
Ouch! Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney had to shell out a lot of cash after a judge ruled that she owed $3,000 to a woman named Heather Hummel. According to Rumor Fix, Tamra hired Heather — who had some Real Housewives aspirations of her own — to ghostwrite a book following Tamra’s difficult divorce from Simon Barney.
Initially, Tamra paid Hummel $4,000 for assistance with a self-help book. But according to Rumor Fix’s source, what Hummel wrote turned out to be “more like a Housewives fan book.” Tamra refused to pay the ghostwriter any more money to make edits to the book.
Rumor Fix’s source says, “Heather wanted this book to relaunch her career, she wanted to be on TV … but when she found out Bravo decided not to include her parts in Real Housewives of Orange County she got angry.” Hummel sued for $10,000 and won $3,000.
“Lesson learned! Don't trust people that say they're someone their not! Check facts ... I felt sorry for her, and in return this is what I got. Oh well. In long run I'm in a much better place,” Tamra wrote of the lawsuit on Twitter. Now she says she has “real” ghostwriters who want to help pen her book.
Hey, Tam. We think you’re witty enough to write the book yourself!
