Beliebers Rejoice! Justin Bieber Has His Fourth Number-One Album
Apparently, Bieber Fever is not easy to sweat out. Justin Bieber's new album Believe debuted at number one on the charts this week with 374,00 copies sold, which is the biggest first-week sales number for any album so far this year. Sounds like there are still a lot of people who wish Justin was their "boyfriend."
This is by far his best sales week, as his next-best week was the 291,000 copies sold in the second week of his 2010 album My World 2.0. And this new album might make mentor Usher a tad jealous, as Believe nearly tripled sales of Usher's Looking 4 Myself, which topped the charts last week. Sorry, Usher!
But is this number all its cracked up to be? Analysts had been predicting that Bieber would sell as many as 440,000 copies of Believe, based on huge first-day sales numbers, but then things cooled off. And this is nowhere near the biggest sales week of the year, as that belongs to Adele, whose album 21 sold a whopping 730,000 copies in the week following her Grammys wins. So maybe the Biebs needs to win a few Grammys to see numbers really skyrocket.
At any rate, it's at least good to know that Justin won't be completely regretting his "Believe" tattoo which he showed off last week.
