Lady Gaga Sings a Haunting New Song in Australia: “Princess Die”
Got suicide on the mind, Lady Gaga?
In what is surely a nod to the gay teen suicides that are still occurring, Lady G debuted a somber new ballad while on tour in Melbourne this week, prefacing it by saying "This song is a little sad. But it's about some of the most deep and personal thoughts I've ever had. It's called 'Princess Die,' D-I-E."
With lyrics like "I wish that I was strong/I wish that I was wrong/I wish that I could cope, but I took pills and left a note" and "I'll do it in the swimming pool so everybody sees" you can bet that people were pretty moved at the show.
Gaga is famous for talking a lot in between songs and really connecting with her fans. She mentioned that she isn't yet sure whether "Princess DIE" will be on her next CD, but the song is definitely statement-making. Just like everything else the Gaga does!
