True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten Reveals She “Really Cried” When Eric Released Pam
If you were reaching for a box of tissues during the emotional scene where Eric released Pam on last week's episode of True Blood, you're not alone.
Actress Kristin Bauer van Straten said she was legitimately crying (real tears, not blood) while filming. In fact, her emotional breakdown came long before the cameras were rolling.
"I wasn’t warned that would happen, so I really cried while I was reading it in the script," she revealed in a new interview with Vulture. "In the table read, I cried. In the rehearsal, I cried. When the camera was on Alex, I cried."
Turns out, her co-star Alexander Skarsgard was just as upset, and together they begged producers to rewrite the scene!
"I went, 'Why do I have to be released? I don’t want to be released,' and Alex went, 'I don’t want to release her,'" Kristin recalled.
"We argued with [executive producer Alex Woo] about all the reasons Eric could protect Pam without releasing her, but they all just, you know, laughed at us and said 'Action!' and we had to film it."
Now that Pam and Eric have officially gone their separate ways, we can't help but wonder what their relationship will be like. If Kristin has any say, their special bond will remain just as strong.
"Alex and I pretty much feel like the difference now is that Eric’s just going to have to call Pam on her cell phone."
