Gossip Girl Season 6: Director Norman Buckley on “Bittersweet” Series Wrap Up — Exclusive

Oh, great. Gossip Girl‘s final season hasn’t even started yet, and we can already feel the waterworks starting to kick in! Season 6 of the scandalous teen soap premieres Monday, October 8, and then we only get about a dozen new episodes before the series comes to an end this December.

There’s been plenty of talk about a new romance for Serena (Blake Lively) and even a potential wedding between Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester). Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with recurring Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars director Norman Buckley to get his thoughts on the final season. Though Norman stayed tight-lipped on any specific plot details, he did confirm that he’ll be returning to work on one episode this year.

Like actors Leighton Meester and Chace Crawford (Nate), Norman also described the end of the series as a “bittersweet” experience, and said he’ll certainly miss it once the show has come to an end. Us, too, Norman. Us, too!

Will you be directing any episodes for Gossip Girl's final season?

Yes, I will be going back to Gossip Girl in August for Season 6, Episode 6. I have loved working on Gossip Girl it has been a big part of my life for the last six years and it will be a bittersweet experience to wrap up my time on that show. I am grateful that I got to be a part of something from beginning to end, that I was able to do as many episodes as I did, and I will miss it when it’s gone.
