Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger” Is Now the Best-Selling American Idol Single of All Time
Kelly Clarkson, American Idol’s very first champ, is now officially “Stronger” than any other former Idol… at least when it comes to hit single sales!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kelly’s latest anthem, “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” has now become the best-selling single of any American Idol alum. It officially surpassed Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” by 1,000 copies (and counting).
“Stronger” has reportedly sold 3,510,000 copies, which overtook Carrie’s 3,509,000 for “Before He Cheats.” In third place is “No Air” by Jordin Sparks, which has sold 3,437,000 copies so far.
Carrie’s still got the record for most album sales, with 13,205,000 compared to Kelly’s 11,664,000. But Kelly’s got more digital singles downloads, with 24,100,000 to Carrie’s 22,535,000.
Is it any surprise that it’s Kelly and Carrie who are duking it out for the top post-Idol chart spots?
