Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Slade Smiley: Some Ladies Might Not Return for Season 8 of Real Housewives of Orange County — Exclusive!

If you’ve watched the previews for The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 7 reunion, you know the insults and accusations fly like a bird attacking Andy Cohen. When Wetpaint Entertainment spoke to Gretchen Rossi’s main man, Slade Smiley, he promised the two-part reunion — which begins tonight on Bravo at 9 p.m. — will change some relationships for a long time to come.

First, not everyone was invited to the reunion. “I guess myself and Brooks [Ayers] were the only ones that were allowed to go,” Slade says of the Real Househusbands. As shown in a PEOPLE preview, Vicki Gunvalson’s daughter, Briana, still has issues with her mother’s boyfriend, Brooks.

Another big blow-up occurs between Alexis Bellino and Gretchen. “Alexis doesn’t have a good time,” says Slade. “She has drawn the line in the sand on some things, and they get brought to light… And anything that Gretchen has ever said, it was an attempt to help her not to harm her.”

It seems like the reunion definitely deepened the rift that has been forming between Gretchen and Alexis all season. “We’ve just kind of grown apart [from Alexis and Vicki]. We wish them all the best and good luck, but at this point, we just have no interest in being involved,” Slade says.

When we asked Slade if the damaged friendships could have a impact on who returns for the unannounced Season 8 of RHoOC, he admitted, “It could; I’m not quite sure. It probably will, to be honest with you, because when you’ve been living an untruth and that gets brought to light and people figure out your game, I think it’s very difficult for people to come back on these shows … If you’re lying and pretending to be somebody different on camera than you are off, no one’s going to have an interest in tuning in to watch you.”
