Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 5 Review: What Did You Think of the Episode?

Pretty Little Liars Season 3, Episode 5: “That Girl is Poison” shook things up, big time. But was the change good? Read on for Wetpaint Entertainment's review of the episode, and then rate it yourself.

This episode started with a bang, with Jenna (Tammin Sursok) revealing her eyesight to the world. To celebrate, she threw a big bash at The Brew, which she invited everyone in the world to, including Ezra (Ian Harding) and even Nate, who is apparently intrigued by her, even after Emily (Shay Mitchell) warned him off.

On the same night, Garrett (Yani Gellman) was let out of jail to visit his ailing mother. The Liars, clever ladies that they are, realized this was probably not a coincidence. Thinking Garrett was probably going to try to contact an ally on the outside, Spencer (Troian Bellisario) tried to stake out the hospital, but Wilden (Bryce Johnson) and his creepiness got in the way. Still, she eventually got into Garrett's room, and discovered he did indeed leave a message: "April Rose has the proof." Um … what?

Plenty went down at the party, too. Aria's (Lucy Hale) old photo teacher was there, and Aria used the opportunity to A) get herself a new job replacing Lucas (Brendan Robinson) has her assistant, and B) get the keys to the photo teacher's studio, where she grabbed Lucas's photo bag. She was just in time, too, since he showed up in all his sketchy glory moments later to try to get into the studio.

Meanwhile, Paige (Lindsey Shaw), who is back to being Emily's friend, collapsed at the party after drinking from Emily's flask from "that night." It turns out Emily was drugged during that night, with a sleeping pill that is used to subdue mental patients (clue?). And guess who had some of those pills? Lucas, as Aria discovered while going through his bag. Whoa.

Finally, Hanna (Ashley Benson), after skipping school due to a broken heart, was forced to work at a church rummage sale, where she came upon Emily's jacket from "the night." So much for having burned all the evidence...

In relationship news, Nate got his flirt on with Jenna, Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton) hit it off with a hot rummage sale volunteer coordinator, Ezra got annoyed at Aria for ditching him at Jenna's party (after he bought her a nice camera and everything), and Spoby was as cute as ever.

This episode really moved the plot along, dropping a lot of clues while also working in some good relationship moments. We give it four stars. What did you think?
